- The number of LED chips per meter

There are mainly two types of LED strips:

1. 3528’s

2. 5050’s

1. 3528’s

The number “3528” indicates that the dimension of the LED chip included is 3.5mm*2.8mm. 3528 LED strip lights are less bright, thus suitable for producing ambient light.

2. 5050’s

Obviously, the dimension of 5050 LED chip is 5mm by 5mm. 5050 LED strip lights are more brighter than 3528 strips.

The number of the LED chips per meter

Another important elements to be considered when buying flexible LED strip lights is the number of LED chips in the strip per meter. In general, the larger the number is , the brighter light the strip produces.

Colors

Almost all colors of LEDs are available now, because any color could be created with RGB technique.

Waterproof of the strip

There are mainly 4 options of waterproofing: non-waterproof, gel coating, hollow plastic sleeving and plastic sleeving with gel filling.

If you are going to install strips in area which is dusty and wet such as bathrooms and kitchens, then you had better choose gel coating strip lights.

Hollow plastic sleeving and plastic sleeving with gel filling strip lights are necessary for areas which have heavy water flow.
